Useful Information About Jamaica

The Caribbean has always been one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Home to a number of islands, each one offers a tropical paradise to their guests. One such place is Jamaica, home to a number of beautiful tourist spots that include white sand beaches and beautiful mountain ranges. Jamaica also offers its guests excellent accommodations and exciting activities that make vacations to the island more memorable. There are many aspects of the Jamaican vacation that must be decided on, and planning just how to spend your vacation can be a bit overwhelming. The good news is that there are certain locations in Jamaica that have been proven to be some of the better places where tourists, especially first-time visitors, should visit without fail.

One of the more notable place tourists could go to in Jamaica is Treasure Beach, which is home to the very popular Jake’s Place Hotel, an ideal honeymoon resort where couples can enjoy a tropical atmosphere while enjoying the excellent service that the resort provides. Another good place to visit is Mandeville where guests can go on hikes while enjoying the scenic beauty of the town, reminiscent of the time when the island was under the British rule. Another notable location is Strawberry Hill, which can provide you with an Old World ambience that includes tasting some of the best Jamaican cuisine and then mountain hiking. Port Antonio provides its guests with lush scenery because of the wide variety of plant life in the area. My Favorite Australian Five-Star Golf Accommodations

I’m an executive in a mergers and acquisitions firm who does a lot of travelling around Australia. In a previous contribution to this website, I posted my short list of favorite five-star hotels. This time around, I’m listing down my favorite five-star golf resorts in Australia. Enjoy!

1. Joondalup Resort

For me, going on a vacation holiday means playing golf – lots and lots of golf. It should not come as any surprise that my favorite five-star resort is the Joondalup Resort, which I consider to be the number one resort golf course in all of Australia (and Golf Australia magazine seems to agree).

It boasts of 27 championship holes, excellent emerald fairways, a flood-lit driving range, motorized cars, practice bunkers and three practice greens. You can even get PGA Tuition here. Imagine, just 20 minutes away from Perth and you end up right in the middle of this golfing paradise.

Once you get tired of golf (what, you actually get tired of golf?), the beach is just a three minute stroll away. You may even choose to just roam around the facility and admire the bushland setting and its network of dunes, lakes and old quarries. The accommodations are magnificent and consist of about 70 grandly appointed rooms and suites, a couple of bars and a superb restaurant that overlooks a swimming pool that looks like a lagoon.

2. Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove

I find myself in Queensland a lot and end up spending plenty of time at the Hyatt Regency Sanctuary on the Gold Coast. Needless to say, the Hyatt Sanctuary has its own championship golf course (two of them, in fact) as well as other exciting sports and recreation facilities, including 10 tennis courts, a formal swimming pool and a fitness center. Aside from the swimming pool, they have a one-acre lagoon with its own sandy beach and salt water.

The hotel looks like one of those grand Qld homes from the 1940s, but this one has nearly 250 rooms. The so-called Great House is the hotel’s centrepiece, with its colonial architecture and rustic furnishings. The entire hotel is surrounded by tropical gardens and paved terraces. There is an in-house Marine Shopping Village for the wives and Camp Hyatt for the kids.

3. The InterContinental Burswood Resort

I must admit that I’ve only been to the InterContinental Burswood Resort in Perth thrice but those three brief visits were enough to earn it a spot on my list. It is an exciting and vibrant place where something is always going on, from the non-stop entertainment offerings to the myriad shows, special events and functions. Why, there are even some games at the Burswood Casino where you can win a million dollars, if you’re lucky.

The entire place just exudes an aura of luxury and sophistication. This place is just a treat for the senses. Their Executive Club Lounge on the 24th floor offers special privileges while the Presidential Suite is the epitome of elegance and indulgence.

There are great views of the Swan River and the parklands. The hotel also hosts the Burswood Recreation Centre, one of Perth’s best and most exclusive Health Clubs, with its own spa, sauna and indoor/outdoor heated pools. Of course, they have their own golf course as well. Have I mentioned that I love to golf?
